African Genome Center (AGC) Introduction:

The AGC entity houses a comprehensive genomics, metabolomics, Genome Editing, Genetic engineering, bioinformatics, phytochemistry and pharmacology platform designed to serve as a central point for research and training. It hosts a diverse and tightly-knit scientific community and offers cutting-edge molecular and genomic resources. Its primary mission is to establish itself as an accredited research and diagnostic center in Morocco and Africa. This involves conducting fundamental and applied scientific research in areas such as food security, agriculture, conservation, environment, and health, as well as contributing to technology transfer and the training of highly skilled personnel.

Position Description:

One Postdoctoral position is now open to join the Natural Products Chemistry and Metabolomics Research Group at the African Genome Center (AGC) within the University Mohamed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Morocco. The selected candidate will be engaged in research projects related to natural products chemistry of medicinal plants, marine invertebrates and microorganisms.

Candidate Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences or any related field.

Extensive research experiences in natural products chemistry (isolation and characterization of chemical constituents, LC-MS and NMR spectra interpretation is a MUST). Additional experience in metabolomics and biological activities using either in-vivo and in-vitro models is required. We also expect a demonstrated ability to plan, conduct research, and interpret results, leading to publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Proven supervisory skills and adaptability in changing environments are desirable.
